Certificate in Maritime Operations
Marine Engine Driver Near Coastal
Marine Engine Drivers play a crucial role in the operation and maintenance of motorised systems aboard small commercial vessels, working primarily in the engine room. With modern vessel engines becoming increasingly advanced and technology-driven, this role demands specialised skills and knowledge.
This course provides comprehensive training in operating and maintaining main and auxiliary machinery, as well as managing onboard electronics. It's an essential starting point for those aspiring to build a career in the maritime industry as a Marine Engine Driver
Completing this qualification is a key step toward obtaining the Marine Engine Driver Certificate of Competency. Once achieved, this certification allows you to work across all states and territories in Australia.
Course Overview
The Marine Engine Driver certification prepares maritime professionals for engine management roles through 16 delivered competency units plus one required first aid qualification (HLTAID011).
This qualification is designed for individuals pursuing careers in the maritime industry, with a specialized focus on engine operations. The Marine Engine Driver (MED) certification prepares you for professional roles in vessel engine management and maintenance.
The comprehensive qualification consists of 17 units of competency. Our course delivers 16 of these units, providing you with the technical knowledge and practical skills needed for maritime engine operations.
There is 1 entry requirement unit that students must complete separately: HLTAID011 Provide First Aid. While this unit is not included in our course delivery, you don't need to complete it before enrollment. However, proof of completion is required prior to receiving your final certification.
